I have been playing video games since I was a little kid and programming my own games for almost as long. After getting my undergraduate degree in computer science I worked for a few years as a software testing consultant. It wasn't a bad job but it wasn't what I really wanted so when I heard of the Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) at Carnegie Mellon University I sent in my application and went back to school. Attending the ETC gave me the opportunity to be a gameplay engineering intern at Pandemic Studios which was a fantastic experience and I'm sad that Pandemic was shut down shortly after my internship ended. Following my summer in LA I got to work on possibly the coolest and most rewarding student project ever SurfaceScapes. With the rest of the SurfaceScapes team I was able to present at both GDC and PAX East during my final semester of grad school. After graduation I hope to find a job back in the games industry doing what I love. |
